A 25-year-old Memphis police officer Ericck Cain was arrested under accusations of raping his minor female cousin and charged with aggravated statutory rape and exploitation of a minor by electronic means. The investigators found out that he was sending the girl nude pictures of himself via email in January 2011 and that he had a sexual relationship with her in June 2011.

Cain admitted sending explicit pictures of himself and both him and the minor girl confirmed they had sexual intercourse. His case is headed to the grand jury after the preliminary hearing in February. Former patrolman at the Mt. Moriah police station has been relieved of duty shortly after he was arrested, and the Memphis police director Tony Armstrong has stated his disheartening with Cain’s actions and said that this type of behavior will not be tolerated from any member of his department.

A 15-year-old Idalia Morgutia-Johnson is preparing a lawsuit against Fresno Police after a cell phone video clip proved her innocent of charges for trespassing, resisting arrest and battery on an officer and showed she was the real victim who was manhandled and arrested for no reason.

Idalia was hanging out with friends in front of Big Mama’s Grill just across the street from the Hoover High School where her school day was over, when she was approached by two police officers who accused her of loitering. Although she tried to explain she was waiting on an order she placed at the grill, they didn’t listen and one of the cops twisted her arm and threw her on the table she was seated at. One of Idalia’s friends started shooting the incident with his cell phone a few minutes later, and caught her getting slammed on the ground, picked up and hauled to the patrol car. You can see Idalia kicking her feet in the air trying to breathe as the officer holding her is choking her, which was interpreted as battery on an officer.

She was arrested and charged which nearly got her expelled from high school. Thanks to this piece of evidence, all charges were dropped and Idalia now has proof she can base her lawsuit on. One thing they can’t make up to her is the constant back pain she’s been experiencing since the arrest that the doctors say will never go away, which prevents the former freshmen basketball captain from enjoying her favorite sport.

After a couple of years of trials and appeals, the North Carolina Court of Appeals finally ruled that the trooper Charles Jones, who was fired from the force in 2007, is to be reinstated with back pay. Jones was dismissed from the job for using excessive force on his K-9, and he’s been battling to get his job back since.

What got him fired was one of the other troopers handing in two 15 second video clips that showed Jones kicking his dog to make him drop the chew toy he had in his mouth. Jones former supervisor Lt. Col. Cecil Lockley said in his testimony that they were planning to discipline Jones, but got instructions from “higher ground” to release him from his Highway Patrol position. The order came from then-governor Mike Easley’s office and wasn’t questioned. Lockley admits that Jones’ discipline method used on the dog named Ricoh was “ugly”, but not beyond the accepted training techniques.

John Midgette, executive director of the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association, said:
“These dogs are not pets. They are deadly weapons, and (if they are) not handled properly, people can get hurt – innocent people can get hurt.”

Jones is going to get a back pay of an estimated $200.000 – $240.000, and it is yet unclear whether he’s planning to go back to his old job or continue working for the Apex Police Department, where he was hired four months after he lost his first job.

Operator failed to recognize a colleague, and he contacted the officer about a man acting suspiciously in the area he was patrolling. The officer set out to trace the man, unaware that he was actually after himself. For 20 whole minutes, he kept miraculously turning into the same alleys as the suspect, but he couldn’t see anyone on the streets.

Who knows for how long would this bizarre chase go on if it weren’t for one of the sergeants who came in the CCTV control room and recognized the suspicious plain-clothed man. When he started laughing hysterically, the operator finally realized his mistake and informed the officer that he could stop the pursuit.

Although the authorities tried to keep this embarrassing event a secret, it leaked to the Police Federation magazine, although the name of the town and the cunning officer were not disclosed.

An Alberta sheriff who caused a cancer survivor’s neck tube to dislodge and the man to collapse after carrying him out of the court house, was found not guilty for the unjust use of force and will not be criminally charged.

52-year-old Bill Berry lost his hearing and power of speech after battle with cancer, and is unable to breathe without the tube that goes through his neck. He entered the Red Deer court house and was trying to pay a traffic ticket when the sheriff, later identified as Thomas Bounds, approached him claiming he didn’t go through the security screening at the entrance. Berry tried to communicate with the sheriff, but he grabbed him and carried him through the door, causing Berry’s neck tube to dislodge and leave the man breathless. After going through a series of convulsions, Berry fell to the ground and collapsed.

Even though the security camera tapes show that Berry wasn’t showing any signs of aggressive behavior, the chief crown prosecutor Robert Coleman decided to drop all charges against Bounds, claiming there wasn’t enough proof that he was using unjust force. Berry is enraged with this decision and he is planning to file a lawsuit.

A police officer charged for a sexual misconduct with a minor girl was shot dead after an attempted arrest by his fellow officers. While he was operating on a DIU checkpoint around 1 a.m. on the territory of Santa Maria, CA, the officer got surrounded by his colleagues who were ordered to take immediate action.

After the case concerning a 17-year-old minor got supported with more incriminating evidence, the order came to arrest the accused officer immediately. Unfortunately, he put up a fight trying to resist the arrest, and at one point he took out his gun and fired once, but hit no one.

One of the police officers on the team responded with shooting him in the chest, which turned out to be a lethal shot.

The name of the killed police officer still can’t be revealed due to the sensitivity of the whole case, and Santa Maria police chief Danny Macagni was rather brief in his official statement. He pointed out that it was necessary to take such extreme measures against a fellow police officer, and that the incident could have been avoided if he hadn’t acted so impulsively at the time of the arrest.

The officer who fired the shot is currently under investigation about the whole case, Macagni stated.

After having a her bathroom window smashed with a brick and with someone kicking in her front door, a 19-year-old mother of two dialed 911 for help. The ones who were supposed to serve and protect made this young woman’s life hell when they came to the rescue.

Two officers came to the scene, and while one of them took her 15-year-old brother outside to talk to him, officer Ladmarald Cates entered the house and sent the girl’s boyfriend to the store to get him some water, under the excuse that he only drank bottled water.

While the boyfriend, who has a pronounced limp, was on his way to the store, the girl took the officer to the bathroom to show him the brick and the shattered glass. He quickly grabbed her by the back of her head and raped her. The other officer was concerned about him staying inside for so long, so he called for backup.

Other cops arriving to the scene witnessed a woman in shock running out of the house and screaming about being raped. Cates cuffed her and brought her in for an alleged assault of his partner, calling her rape accusations a lie.

The girl was kept in prison for four days, and suffered a severe emotional trauma that resulted in two suicide attempts. She finally gathered the strength to find an attorney and begin her battle for justice. DNA evidence made Cates change his story claiming there was a consensual intercourse, until he was finally convicted for rape.

He’s facing a maximum of life sentence on a trial in April. The girl who chose to remain anonymous as a rape victim was glad to see justice finally served.

A woman who stood in front of one of the motorcycles wouldn’t let them pass, but the cop rammed into her and drove away, while others began waving their batons and hitting people. Several people were pushed to the ground and one of them dropped the tablet he was using to record the scene, but managed to get it back when a cop kicked it towards the crowd.

After their beloved pet cat was shot dead in the alley behind their home, a family from Lebanon, Ohio is lobbying for a change in the policy on handling stray animals.

Police received a call from the cat owners’ neighbors regarding a sickly looking cat in their backyard. According to the department policy, any sick or injured stray cats are to be eliminated if found, and under no circumstances are they to be transported in a police vehicle.

Two officers acted accordingly and shot the cat dead. What enraged the cat’s owners is the fact that it was never checked for identification tags neither did the officers attempt in any way to determine whether it was a stray or a pet cat.

They’re trying to make the police change its stray animals handling policy so that mistakes like these won’t happen again.

All three incidents were recorded on a cruiser dash camera, but the one that caused the most public stir up was the case of 52-year-old William Bartlett who was carrying a licensed gun at the time he was pulled over.

Harless was caught on tape threatening the man with putting 10 bullets in him and not losing any sleep over it, and yelling out various insults and more threats. Having more confirmations of Harless’ inappropriate behavior during several more traffic stops, the Safety Director Thomas Ream issued his release from duty.
