The notorious Dolton cop who ended up on the front pages for beating up a 15-year-old special ed student and being involved in a shady self-defense shooting has hit the headlines once more, this time being accused of rape and facing jail time.

The 38-year-old Christopher Lloyd is known for the May 2009 incident when he was caught on the school surveillance cam video breaking the nose of a special needs student because his shirt wasn’t tucked in. After the video leaked online, Dolton Police Department refused to disclose the name of the officer responsible for violently throwing the boy into the lockers, then smashing his face to the floor while hitting him repeatedly, which left the special ed student Marshawn Pitts with a broken nose, busted lip and cuts all over his face. The incident was covered up and justified by both Dolton officials and Academy of Learning High School Pitts was attending.

This isn’t the first time Lloyd was involved in a police brutality incident. In February 2008, his ex-wife filed a wrongful death suit against him after he shot her new husband Cornell McKinney 24 times in front of their children. Chicago police accepted his claims of acting in self-defense and he got away with only a short-time suspension.

Lloyd finally ended up behind bars after an Indiana woman accused him threatening her with a knife at her home in Hammond and raping her with a pillow over her head. He is now facing up to 20 years in prison for rape, criminal deviate conduct, criminal confinement and sexual battery. He’s being held on a $110,000 bail in an Indiana jail while awaiting trial.

While the Massachusetts Tea Party Coalition’s “Patriots Day Rally” was held to protest against taxes on Tax Day, a crowd of people gathered at a counter protest to express their opposition to the anti-gay activist Scott Lively. Two gay protesters were arrested, and one of the people from the anti-Tea Party protest followed them as they were taken away to show his solidarity with them.

After he got back into the crowd, he was approached by one of the Tea Party supporters who knocked the wig off his head. When he asked him why did he think it was OK to do such a thing, the man replied sarcastically with “Oh, my hand slipped.”. That is when one of the police officers came towards the counter protester and told him to “take his shit and get out of there”, shoving him hard.

The man told the cop not to shove him, and that’s when he reacted the way it was captured in the pictures – wrapping his right hand around the protester’s neck and choking him for a short period of time. Luckily, the other protesters reacted quickly and started taking pictures, which made the cop let the man go from his grip.

This is not the sole incident caused by this police officer, who was violent to several other people in the crowd and even grabbed the phone out of the hand of one protester when he tried to take pictures.

He was also photographed getting in another protester’s face and threatening him. Since his badge number has been written down, it’s possible that he will be facing charges for police brutality from the harassed protesters.

Justice has finally been served for a brave 90-year-old Baltimore woman who had the strength to lock a police officer in her basement after he busted in her home without a warrant and started harassing her. Courageous granny Venus Green won the settlement nearly 3 years after the incident, getting paid $95,000.

After Green’s grandson Tallie had been shot in 2009, police came to her door to investigate the case. Even though Green told the local TV station that her grandson had been shot at a convenience store, they insisted that the shooting took place inside the house and that either Tallie shot himself or was shot by Green. One of the police officers forced his way inside Green’s home without having a warrant, heading to the basement where Tallie used to live to look for blood stains and other evidence.

Green told the reporters that the officer was violent, shoving her and pushing her over the chair. Although he had no legal right to be in Green’s house, he insulted the old lady and finally handcuffed her. When he went into the basement, the fearless woman shut the door behind him, locking him inside.

Being harassed in her own home left Green furious, so she filed a civil right lawsuit against Baltimore police. As a law abiding citizen that had never been arrested, she was determined to get justice for the unprovoked violence and verbal insults, and finally she accepted the city’s settlement offer at the beginning of this month.

Baltimore city has paid more than $17 million in police brutality settlements just in the past two years, with the number of harassed and threatened citizens filing suits constantly rising.

This is just one of the alarmingly increasing number of allegations on the account of racism against Scotland Yard that was made this year, this time by a black firefighter who came to assist the police but ended up tasered and cuffed.

The event took place in Harrow, North London when the 28-year-old firefighter Edric Kennedy-Macfoy was driving home late at night. He drove by a group of police officers trying to shut down a large party of about 200 people that had become too loud. Some of the partygoers became violent and started throwing rocks and bottles at the officers, slightly injuring four of them. Kennedy-Macfoy identified one of the people who stoned the police van, and in his attempt to help he drove through the cordon and approached one of the officers to give them the description of the violent young man.

Before he even got a chance to speak, a group of six officers assaulted Kennedy-Macfoy while pouring racial insults, shocked him with a stun gun and finally arrested him for no apparent reason.

One of the policemen, inspector David Bergum later testified in court “I couldn’t say he was anything to do with the party. The party was all black. He was black. He had driven through the cordon. I had to do a quick risk assessment.” proving that the assault and arrest were the sole consequence of Kennedy-Macfoy’s skin color.

Kennedy-Macfoy was charged with obstructing police, but was found not guilty. He has now made a formal complaint against the force which is under the investigation of Directorate of Professional Standards and the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) along with eleven other separate allegations of racism.

This horrifying event took place in Fresno, California when 28-year-old Raul Rosas was tasered, hogtied and finally drowned with a garden hose in front of his minor children and numerous witnesses.

Police came in response to a domestic disturbance call, pepper spraying and tasering Rosas at a friend’s house. His two children, I.R. and H.R. stated that their father had not committed a crime and that he was unarmed. The tasering went on for 8 to 10 minutes, then Rosas was hogtied with his ankles tied to his handcuffed hands on the back.

Cops slammed him face down on a table in the backyard when Rosas started complaining that he couldn’t breathe and asking for water. One of the officers took a garden hose and ran water into Rosas’ face, drowning him while he was trying to move his face away, fighting for air.

When he turned the water off, the officer put a knee on the decedent’s back and kept applying pressure on it, while some of the witnesses started begging him to let the man stand up because he apparently had trouble breathing. Their call for help was ignored, and after a couple of minutes spit bubbles started coming out of Rosas’ mouth.

The witnesses yelled at the cops that he wasn’t breathing, but one unidentified officer told them “he is faking it” and wouldn’t let go of him. Finally, after checking the man’s pulse, they realized he had none and that he had stopped breathing. An ambulance came too late, failing to revive the descendent.

Rosas’ children are suing the City of Fresno and 10 Doe cops through their guardians, Claudia and Nora Nava, demanding punishment for their father’s wrongful death.

Taking pictures with a hand over a woman’s bare behind in the patrol car could cost senior sheriff’s deputy Thaddeus Lloyd his job. This Georgia officer has become the star of a new police scandal that involves inappropriate behavior, and although he claims the picture is 11 years old, he has been suspended after it leaked to public.

Lloyd stated that the picture was taken 11 years ago when he was working in Clarkston Police Department. The woman in the picture was a porn starlet performing in a strip club that night, and he claims he was off duty when the picture was taken. Still, wearing a uniform and letting the woman pose undressed in the patrol car while touching her buttocks wasn’t what you’d call the appropriate action of a police officer.

The way the picture ended on Lloyd’s superior’s desk is rather interesting – it was found on a cell phone of a Georgia prison inmate, after it got confiscated.

It was later confirmed that the compromising photo was also on Lloyd’s Facebook and Myspace accounts.

With members of the force getting more careless about the private content they upload online, the number of lawsuits and suspensions based on private pictures has risen from just a few to around 50 per year.

These are the pictures of Michelle Lane, a victim of Maryland post police beating by Carroll County Sheriff Deputy Zepp which left Michelle with a moderate to severe traumatic brain injury. hysicians at University of Maryland’s Shock Trauma Center confirmed a poor prognosis of Michelle Lane, that she will never return to normal living conditions, status post head trauma and loss of consciousness beating by Carroll County, MD Sheriff Deputy Zepp.

Dep. Zepp used near lethal force, using his body parts and a weapon against and unarmed woman with a known spinal cord injury, on an animal control issue where her daughter’s pony escaped their fence due to Dep Zepp’s friends setting off professional grade, rocket propelled, illegal fireworks. Wreckless endangerment is also noted on charging document requested felony assault and battery due to Zepp efforts to engage in, then cover up his attack of Michelle Lane.

It might sound like a joke, but this outrageous event actually took place at Morrell Park Elementary School after a school fight. The officers from Baltimore Police Department arrested three 9-year-old girls and an 8-year-old boy on aggravated assault charges after a schoolyard fight that broke out 9 days prior to the arrest. What makes it so shocking is the fact the children were treated as adult suspects, and as soon they were taken out of the class and into the principal’s office, they were handcuffed and arrested.

In defense of their action, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said that they handled the children as they would any felony suspect due to the fact that it was more than just a school kids brawl. Allegedly one of the kids threatened to kill one of their peers by forcing their head on the railroad track and the other held another kid’s head underwater, which made the school authorities ask police for help.

The ACLU of Maryland reacted severely to this case, calling the whole thing “appalling”. ACLU’s attorney Sonia Kumar stated that “Even if it was appropriate to treat the fight between children as a criminal justice matter, there is no excuse for treating eight and nine year olds the same way we treat adult criminal suspects.”

Nowadays it seems like even the harmless of gestures can get you arrested and charged with assault, like it happened to a man from Fredricksburg. David Loveless was arrested and handcuffed at his house and taken to jail after two police officers thought he was pointing a finger at them while standing at his front porch.

Natatia Bledsoe, Fredricksburg Police Department spokesperson, claims that Loveless made a motion of shooting at the officers, using his finger as a gun.

Loveless, who has no criminal record, denied the accusations. He explained to the news reporters that he was standing outside his house, taking a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket and lighting a cigarette which was interpreted as a gun gesture by the officers passing by. He is now facing two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer by intimidation and two counts of obstructing justice.

This is just another in the series of criminal charges against people who were just talking to the police, making non-threatening gestures or even getting brutally beaten up by the cops and then portrayed as the assaulters. One of the most outrageous is last year’s attack at a mentally handicapped 17-year-old boy whose speech impediment was interpreted as a sign of disrespect towards the cops, who was pepper sprayed, tasered and charged with an assault.

What was supposed to be a part of the routine procedure in response to a medical alert ended with an innocent man shot to death by NYPD officers. A 68-year-old Marine veteran Kenneth Chamberlain Sr. was at his home when he accidentally activated his medical alert device, causing his service provider to place a call to White Plains Department of Public Safety, sending an ambulance, police patrol and firefighters as part of the emergency alert procedure.

When cops arrived at Chamberlain’s door, he refused to let them in, saying he was alright and that he needed no help. The police insisted on coming in and refused to leave, making Chamberlain panic and call his provider asking for help, saying the police were planning to kill him.

The alert system recorded the call, and the next hour of police taunting and even throwing racial slur at Chamberlain behind the closed door was caught on tape. They finally broke in, charged at him with tasers and two gun shots were heard. His niece found a horrifying sight – her uncle dying on the floor, two shot wounds on his chest.

The police claim Chamberlain reached for the knife on the table and one of the officers shot him in self defense, but the tape with the recorded conversation might be the key evidence in this case of brutal overstepping of police authority.
