The anti-austerity protests that took place in over 50 cities in Spain bring news of many police brutality incidents, but this one is by far the worst. The video shows an anti-riot police officer running after one of the protesters through the crowded street, waving his truncheon aimlessly trying to hit him while passing by elderly men, women and children.
He accidentally hits a 13-year-old boy on the head and the force of impact knocks the child on the ground. A woman grabs the boy in her arms and tries to protect him with her body, receiving several blows from another cop who rushes in to assist his colleague, not realizing he’s after the wrong person. After realizing the mistake, he cold-bloodedly walks away without a world of apology, leaving the beaten woman and the child on the ground.
An enraged 15-year-old girl yells at the police officer after witnessing this brutal assault, and he answers by shoving her and hitting her with the truncheon as another cop hits her too. At the end of the video you can see the boy’s parents begging for the cops to call the ambulance, and witnesses reported that it provoked them to attack again. Finally the bleeding boy had to be taken to the hospital by car.
