Police Shot Family Dog With No Reason

In Lubbock Texas a family with small children was almost robbed one day when the father named John Espinoza forgot to shut down the garage door.

The intruders got in and threatened them with guns while they wanted money from their wallets and his wife’s purse.

Espinoza refused and managed to scare them away by showing that he wasn’t afraid. He ran after them when they escaped in fear, while the wife was calling the police for some help. She told them that they had been almost robbed and that they had invaded their house through the garage door.

Meanwhile the family’s dog, a Saint Bernard, got out to see what was happening. He spotted the police coming and ran over to them to greet, but suddenly the cops shot him in the head. The parents saw it all and couldn’t believe it.

The cops claimed that the dog was threatening them, and that they have the right to shoot it.

This insanity is now luckily under research by the family’s attorney. Espinoza said that his children are crying all day because they were very attached to the family dog, and that they all miss their best friend. Neighbors confirm that the Saint Bernard was a gentle and nice dog that would harm anything or anybody.

A well-bred Saint Bernard is calm, sensible, and patient. Some are more outgoing, others more introspective. AS FOR THE POLICE THEY HAVE NEVER PULLED THERE GUN OUT THEY SHOULD NOT SHOW FEAR AND BY READING ALL THIS POLICE BRUTALITY ON ANIMALS ,SAYS THAT THESE POLICE OFFICERS SHOULD GET MORE TRAINING IN DOGS AND HOW NOT TO SHOW FEAR IN FRONT OF THEM , BUT I HAVE A SAINT AND THEY ARE THE MOST GENTLE GIANTS I’VE EVER HAD….I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSE IN THIS MATTER.

this cop should be taught a lesson

  3. dick says:

So if a police dog runs up to me I’m allowed to shoot it in the head as I feel I may be in danger by said animal?

Or shoot a cop as they seem fairly dangerous.

    • Cop Hater says:

I agree. I feel more threatened by cops than I do a dog. If they have the right to shoot an animal they’re threatened by, I should have the same right.

WE ALL should have the same right

  4. PigButcher says:

What gives them the right to legaly lie and shoot at us when they feel threatened (If we lie to them we go to jail) when they are the most threatening thing out there!

I literally got sick reading this. You’d think most officers being trained along-side K-9 units would at least have enough sense to know a threatening situation when they see one. I call bullshit, someone out there is just a dickhead. How absolutely hypocritical, but who’s surprised?

Also, just a note to the author of this article: Fiarly sure it should read “the Saint Bernard was a gentle and nice dog that would[n’t] harm anything or anybody.” since the final sentence contradicts the article. Not hatin’~

Funny you say that.Criticizing someones spelling even though you spelled “Fairly” incorrect and you spelled “Hating” incorrect also. Have a nice day now 🙂

Because a large animal running up too you isn’t threatening? The police are supposed to know that some random dog is friendly? Sorry but this just reeks of an understandable accident, its sad. But guess what? My uncles hand was mauled by a supposedly “friendly” dog that came running up to him. The job is risky enough.

    • Philou says:

Yeah, let’s all carry guns and shoot at everything that could potentially be a threat, and above all ask ourselves no question when it happens. That seems like a very normal social behavior.

  7. Reid says:

I think this is wrong, but I can see why the police could have mistaken the dog as violent. How would you feel if a strange dog came running up to you? They should have handled this differently though. In the last line “Neighbors confirm that the Saint Bernard was a gentle and nice dog that would harm anything or anybody.”, I believe that the author of this article meant to say would not harm anything or anybody. Little things like this on this website make things more unreliable looking.

A good dog will ALWAYS inspect a visitor – AND THEY HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO because the cop is a visitor ON THEIR TERRITORY!!!

Today the same brutality happened to my daughter’s dog. A 2 year old boxer, who was the dumbest sweetest dog. On 1/1/12 approx 4pm he scared a very old man on a bike, the neighbor called 911 because he was very stressed and she thought he might be having a heart attack. The dog never touched him. When the sheriff arrived he immediately shot the dog (3 different versions as to why). My 9yr old grand daughter can’t understand how the officer (who she is taught to honor and respect) could do such a thing. Another officer on the scene yelled to get the other dog (he was being held by his colar) in the house “or I’ll shoot that f@cking dog too”.

The officer was not justified in murdering the dog. Any suggestions on how to get justice (legally) would be appreciated.

Kimbo did not deserve this and my grand daughter lost her best friend.

this is bad….. i cant spell very good but i will tell you my story, today i was having a great tuesday! (04/24/12)
got a call at 11 saying i needed to go home, my dog was abbused by police. the dog had gotten out of my back gate and likes to follow next to bikes and greet ppl. ell the cops where called and had tryed to capture the dog on the outher side of my block they first sprayed her with pepper spray and so she ran…… then they tazed her ……and so she got away agein…….then as she was running home into the nabors front yard had passes off the tranqulizer gun and replaced it with a 12 guage shotgun with a slug shot. luckly the slug only broke one small bone in her right front leg and detached the tendens and legiments in it. she ran to the front door of my house as the cop pushed the chase and racked one more in. my dog checked the front door, then the side gate, then the back ally way to try get get inside. finally they got the news on her and drug her to the front of the house where she was put into the dogcatchers van. not only did this scar my kids, but i know that this they will never forget the dog has never been aggressive or even showed signs. and it breaks my heart to know that my kids will ask me why the cops shot beam while she was running away from them.

the police are such COWARDS! somehow mailmen all over america survive to retirement after thousands of dog encounters but they don’t carry guns. WTF is wrong with the goddamned cops? trigger-happy, affirmative action, ANIMAL ABUSING FILTH!

    • Debbi says:

they’re sadistic and trained that they need to put fear into the general population so that it won’t be a problem when the economy collapses or some other national emergency like gun-confiscation. This is nothing but scare tactics to get the public to be afraid of cops. And in part they don’t even realize that they are promoting it because they are trained to overreact and not to hesitate, and that they can automatically say it was a threat. They don’t have the ability to realize they are being played but afterwards, they will find themselves being treated by BigGov in the same way that vets are…as disposable assets.

They’ll kill you your dog and rape and murder your kids. So you might as well start teaching our dogs and our kids if your gunna go out go out like a boss and take more of them with you than they can take of you. You and your family will probably die anyways but atleast they’ll think twice before messing with another family. These cowards are more afraid of death than we are they know they’re going to hell. Well c u there piggies. Watch the movie sin city they seem to know what’s really going on.
